Caprese Appetizer

Here’s a simple and classic Caprese Appetizer recipe:


πŸ… Caprese Appetizer (Caprese Salad Skewers or Platter)

Ingredients:

  • 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes (halved if large)

  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine), drained

  • Fresh basil leaves

  • Extra virgin olive oil (about 2–3 tbsp)

  • Balsamic glaze or vinegar (optional, for drizzling)

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • Optional: skewers or toothpicks (for individual servings)


Instructions:

Option 1: Skewer Style
  1. On each toothpick/skewer, thread one tomato, one basil leaf (fold if large), and one mozzarella ball.

  2. Arrange the skewers on a serving platter.

  3. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze.

  4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

  5. Serve immediately or chill for up to an hour.

Option 2: Platter Style
  1. Slice large tomatoes and fresh mozzarella into ΒΌ-inch thick rounds.

  2. Arrange tomato and mozzarella slices on a platter, alternating with basil leaves.

  3. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze.

  4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

  5. Let sit for 10–15 minutes to allow flavors to meld before serving.

  • Use high-quality olive oil and fresh basil for the best flavor.

  • For a twist, add avocado slices or prosciutto.

  • Mini skewers make it perfect for parties!
