Crockpot Loaded Steak and Potato Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs of steak (chuck roast, ribeye, or sirloin work well)

  • 6 medium potatoes (russet or Yukon gold), peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes

  • 1 onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup beef broth

  • 1 packet of ranch seasoning mix

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp paprika (optional)

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon bits (optional but recommended)

  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Steak:

    • If your steak isn’t in cubes already, cut it into 1-inch cubes. You can trim off any excess fat, but some fat will add flavor.

  2. Layer the Crockpot:

    • Place the diced potatoes, diced onion, and minced garlic at the bottom of the crockpot.

  3. Season and Add the Steak:

    • Season the steak cubes with salt, pepper, and paprika. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning over the steak and potatoes.

    • Pour the beef broth into the crockpot, making sure the ingredients are mostly submerged.

  4. Cook:

    • Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the steak is tender and the potatoes are fully cooked.

  5. Finish the Dish:

    • Once the dish is done, stir it all together gently.

    • Add the sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese, mixing until the cheese is melted and everything is well combined.

  6. Garnish:

    • Top with crispy bacon bits and chopped green onions for extra flavor and texture.
