Crockpot Loaded Steak and Potato Recipe
Ingredients:
-
2 lbs of steak (chuck roast, ribeye, or sirloin work well)
-
6 medium potatoes (russet or Yukon gold), peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
-
1 onion, diced
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup beef broth
-
1 packet of ranch seasoning mix
-
1 tsp salt
-
1/2 tsp black pepper
-
1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
-
1/2 cup sour cream
-
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
-
1/2 cup cooked bacon bits (optional but recommended)
-
Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Steak:
-
If your steak isn’t in cubes already, cut it into 1-inch cubes. You can trim off any excess fat, but some fat will add flavor.
-
-
Layer the Crockpot:
-
Place the diced potatoes, diced onion, and minced garlic at the bottom of the crockpot.
-
-
Season and Add the Steak:
-
Season the steak cubes with salt, pepper, and paprika. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning over the steak and potatoes.
-
Pour the beef broth into the crockpot, making sure the ingredients are mostly submerged.
-
-
Cook:
-
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the steak is tender and the potatoes are fully cooked.
-
-
Finish the Dish:
-
Once the dish is done, stir it all together gently.
-
Add the sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese, mixing until the cheese is melted and everything is well combined.
-
-
Garnish:
-
Top with crispy bacon bits and chopped green onions for extra flavor and texture.
