Here’s a delicious and refreshing Orange Creamsicle Cake recipe — it’s perfect for summer and tastes just like the classic frozen treat!

🍊 Orange Creamsicle Cake Recipe

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 1 box white cake mix

  • 1 cup orange juice (instead of water)

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1 tablespoon orange zest

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Orange Jell-O Layer:

  • 1 box (3 oz) orange-flavored gelatin (like Jell-O)

  • 1 cup boiling water

  • 1/2 cup cold water

For the Creamsicle Topping (Whipped Cream Frosting):

  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 tablespoon orange juice (optional)

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Make the Cake:

    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.

    • In a large bowl, combine cake mix, orange juice, oil, eggs, orange zest, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until smooth.

    • Pour into prepared pan and bake 28–32 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

    • Let the cake cool for 15–20 minutes.

  2. Add the Orange Jell-O:

    • While the cake cools, mix the Jell-O powder with 1 cup boiling water until dissolved. Stir in 1/2 cup cold water.

    • Poke holes all over the cake using a fork or wooden skewer. Slowly pour the Jell-O mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in.

    • Refrigerate cake for at least 1 hour (or until fully chilled and set).

  3. Make the Creamsicle Frosting:

    • Beat cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and optional orange juice; mix until combined.

    • In a separate bowl, beat heavy cream to stiff peaks. Gently fold whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.

    • Spread over the chilled cake.

  4. Optional Garnish:

    • Sprinkle with orange zest, mandarin orange slices, or white chocolate curls.

🍰 Tips

  • For a stronger orange flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon orange extract to the batter or frosting.

  • Want it fancier? Make it in round cake pans and layer it!
