Here’s a detailed and delicious recipe for Fresh Peach Fritters—crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside, and packed with sweet peach flavor. These are perfect as a summer breakfast, brunch treat, or even dessert.

🍑 Fresh Peach Fritters Recipe

Yield:

8–10 medium fritters

Prep Time:

20 minutes

Cook Time:

15 minutes

Total Time:

35 minutes

🍑 Ingredients

For the Fritters:

  • 2 large ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and diced (about 1 ½ to 2 cups)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (adds caramel depth)

  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • ⅓ cup whole milk (or buttermilk for tang)

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 2–3 tablespoons milk

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

🥣 Instructions

1. Prepare the Peaches

  • Peel and dice the peaches into small cubes. Set aside.

Tip: If the peaches are very juicy, place the diced fruit on a paper towel to absorb excess moisture.

2. Make the Batter

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together:

    • Flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk:

    • Egg, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter.

  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir just until combined.

  4. Gently fold in the diced peaches. Do not overmix.

3. Heat the Oil

  • In a heavy-bottomed pot or deep skillet, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

Use a thermometer to keep the temperature steady—too hot and they’ll burn, too cool and they’ll be greasy.

4. Fry the Fritters

  1. Drop spoonfuls (about 2–3 tablespoons per fritter) of the batter into the hot oil. Flatten slightly with the back of a spoon.

  2. Fry 2–3 fritters at a time, about 2–3 minutes per side, or until deep golden brown.

  3. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a wire rack or paper towels.

5. Make the Glaze

  • In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth and pourable.

6. Glaze the Fritters

  • While still warm, drizzle the glaze over the fritters or dip the tops directly into the glaze. Let set for a few minutes before serving.

📝 Notes & Variations

  • Add-ins: A few chopped pecans or a pinch of cardamom can add extra flavor.

  • Storage: Best eaten fresh, but they can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 day. Reheat in a toaster oven.

  • Make it easier: Use canned peaches (well-drained) if fresh aren’t available.

🧁 Serving Suggestions

  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

  • Pair with a cold glass of milk, iced tea, or coffee for a perfect summer treat.
