🧂 Ingredients

For the Caramel Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar

  • 2 tbsp water

  • 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

  • Pinch of salt (optional)

For the Banana Cream Layer:

  • 2 ripe bananas (medium-sized, mashed)

  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk

  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream

  • 2 tbsp sugar (adjust based on banana sweetness)

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

For Whipped Cream Topping (optional):

  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream

  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar

  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Garnish (optional):

  • Sliced bananas

  • Caramel drizzle

  • Crushed biscuits or nuts

Step 1: Make the Caramel Sauce

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, add the sugar and water. Do not stir — just swirl gently until the sugar dissolves.

  2. Let it bubble until it turns a deep amber color (5–7 minutes).

  3. Remove from heat and carefully stir in the cream and butter (it will bubble).

  4. Add a pinch of salt for a salted caramel flavor.

  5. Let it cool slightly and pour about 1 tablespoon into the bottom of each serving cup or ramekin. Let it set while preparing the filling.

Step 2: Prepare the Banana Cream

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together milk, cream, sugar, mashed bananas, and cornstarch until smooth.

  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens — about 6–8 minutes.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

  4. Let it cool slightly (not hot, but warm), then spoon over the caramel layer in the cups.

Step 3: Chill

  • Cover the cups with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set and chilled.

Step 4: Make the Whipped Cream (optional)

  1. Beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

  2. Pipe or spoon on top of the banana cream layer.

Step 5: Garnish & Serve

  • Top with banana slices, a drizzle of caramel, or crushed nuts/biscuits for texture.

  • Use ripe bananas for the best flavor.

  • For a firmer texture, increase the cornstarch slightly.

  • These cups can be made a day ahead — just add banana slices right before serving to avoid browning
