Shrimp Fried Rice

Here’s a classic and flavorful Shrimp Fried Rice recipe you can make at home. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for using up leftover rice.


🍤 Shrimp Fried Rice Recipe

Servings: 2–3

Cook Time: 10–15 mins
Total Time: ~25 mins


🥢 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old, cold rice works best)

  • 8–10 medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten

  • 1/2 cup diced onion

  • 1/3 cup frozen peas and carrots (or chopped fresh veggies)

  • 2–3 tablespoons soy sauce (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional for extra flavor)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (or sesame oil for flavor)

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)


🔪 Instructions:

  1. Prep the Shrimp: Pat dry and lightly season with salt and pepper.

  2. Cook the Eggs:

    • Heat 1/2 tbsp oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat.

    • Scramble the eggs until just cooked. Remove and set aside.

  3. Sauté the Shrimp:

    • Add 1/2 tbsp oil to the pan. Cook shrimp for 1–2 mins per side until pink and opaque.

    • Remove and set aside with the eggs.

  4. Stir-Fry the Veggies:

    • Add remaining oil. Sauté garlic and onions until fragrant (1–2 mins).

    • Add peas and carrots. Cook for another 2 mins until soft.

  5. Add Rice:

    • Break up any clumps and stir rice into the pan.

    • Toss well to combine with veggies. Cook for 2–3 mins.

  6. Season & Finish:

    • Add soy sauce and oyster sauce. Mix thoroughly.

    • Return shrimp and eggs to the pan. Stir-fry everything together for another 1–2 mins.

    • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

  7. Serve:

    • Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
