Pecan Praline Bars

Here’s a classic Pecan Praline Bars recipe—rich, buttery, and packed with that Southern praline flavor:


Pecan Praline Bars Recipe

🍪 Ingredients

For the crust:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

  • 2/3 cup packed light brown sugar

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 tsp salt

For the praline topping:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup honey or light corn syrup

  • 2 tbsp heavy cream

  • 2 cups chopped pecans

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt


🧑‍🍳 Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prepare the Pan

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil, leaving some overhang for easy removal.

Step 2: Make the Crust

  1. In a large bowl, beat together the butter and brown sugar until creamy.

  2. Add flour and salt, mixing until combined into a crumbly dough.

  3. Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan.

  4. Bake for 18–20 minutes, until lightly golden around the edges.

Step 3: Make the Praline Topping

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.

  2. Stir in brown sugar, honey (or corn syrup), and cream.

  3. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, for about 1–2 minutes.

  4. Remove from heat and stir in pecans, vanilla, and a pinch of salt.

Step 4: Assemble & Bake Again

  1. Pour the praline topping over the warm crust, spreading evenly.

  2. Return the pan to the oven and bake for another 20–22 minutes, or until bubbling and set.

Step 5: Cool & Cut

  1. Cool completely in the pan.

  2. Use the parchment overhang to lift out the bars.

  3. Cut into squares or rectangles.


✅ Tips

  • Use toasted pecans for even richer flavor.

  • For extra depth, add a splash of bourbon to the praline topping.

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
