Red beans and rice Bourbon glazed lamb chop and steamed broccoli.

A complete, restaurant-style meal featuring:

  1. Red Beans and Rice – classic, flavorful, and comforting.

  2. Bourbon-Glazed Lamb Chops – rich, tender, and sweet-savory.

  3. Steamed Broccoli – simple and fresh, to balance the bold flavors.

Cajun-Style Red Beans and Rice

 Ingredients (Serves 4–6):

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 1 bell pepper, diced

  • 2 celery stalks, diced

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp cayenne (adjust to heat level)

  • 1 tsp dried thyme

  • 1 tsp oregano

  • 2 (15 oz) cans red kidney beans (or 2 cups cooked)

  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth

  • 1 bay leaf

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice

  • Optional: sliced andouille sausage or ham (about ½ lb)

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. In a pot, heat oil over medium heat. Sauté onion, pepper, and celery for 5–6 minutes.

  2. Add garlic, spices, and (if using) sausage or ham. Cook for 2–3 minutes.

  3. Stir in beans, broth, and bay leaf. Simmer uncovered for 30–40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Slightly mash some beans for a creamy texture.

  4. Meanwhile, cook rice per package instructions.

  5. Serve red beans over rice.


Bourbon-Glazed Lamb Chops

 Ingredients (Serves 4):

  • 8 lamb rib or loin chops (about 1 inch thick)

  • Salt and black pepper

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Bourbon Glaze:

  • ¼ cup bourbon

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Season lamb chops with salt and pepper.

  2. Sear in olive oil over medium-high heat for 3–4 min per side (internal temp: 130–135°F for medium-rare). Remove and rest.

  3. In the same pan, add glaze ingredients. Simmer until thickened (5–7 minutes).

  4. Return lamb to the pan and coat with glaze for 1–2 minutes.

  5. Spoon extra glaze over chops before serving.


Steamed Broccoli

 Ingredients:

  • 1 large head broccoli (cut into florets)

  • Salt

  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil

  • Optional: lemon juice or grated Parmesan

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Steam broccoli over boiling water for 5–6 minutes until bright green and just tender.

  2. Toss with butter or oil and season lightly with salt. Add lemon or Parmesan if desired.


🍽️ Serving Tips:

  • Plate the rice, spoon red beans over top.

  • Arrange lamb chops next to rice, drizzle with bourbon glaze.

  • Add a side of broccoli for color and crunch.
