  • 1 lemon (zested and juiced)

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional, for extra flavor)

For the Asparagus:

  • 1 bunch asparagus (trimmed)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Salt and pepper

  • Juice of ½ lemon

Optional Garnish:

  • Lemon wedges

  • Chopped fresh dill or parsley

1. Prep the Salmon Marinade:

In a small bowl, mix:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • Lemon juice and zest

  • Minced garlic

  • Dijon mustard (if using)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or zip-top bag and pour marinade over them. Let marinate for 15–30 minutes (refrigerated).

2. Prep the Asparagus:

  • Toss the asparagus with 1 tablespoon olive oil, salt, and pepper.

  • Drizzle with lemon juice just before grilling.

3. Preheat the Grill:

  • Preheat a gas or charcoal grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F / 200°C).

  • If using a grill pan or stovetop, preheat over medium-high.

4. Grill the Asparagus:

  • Place asparagus directly on the grill grates or in a grill basket.

  • Remove and set aside.

5. Grill the Salmon:

  • Lightly oil the grill grates or use foil brushed with oil.

  • Place salmon skin-side down on the grill.

  • Grill for 4–5 minutes on the first side.

  • Flip carefully and grill for another 3–4 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and is opaque in the center.
