Posted on May 15, 2025

Stinging Nettle Oil is an herbal oil infusion made by soaking stinging nettle leaves (Urtica dioica) in a carrier oil. It’s used in natural health and skincare for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and nutrient-rich properties.

🔹 Key Benefits

  1. Hair & Scalp Health

    • Promotes hair growth

    • Helps reduce dandruff

    • Strengthens hair shafts and prevents breakage

  2. Skin Care

    • Reduces inflammation (acne, eczema, psoriasis)

    • Soothes itchy or irritated skin

    • Contains antioxidants that support skin repair

  3. Joint & Muscle Relief

    • May ease arthritis or muscle pain when massaged into affected areas

🔹 How It’s Made (DIY Method)

Ingredients:

  • Dried stinging nettle leaves (fresh leaves can sting unless dried or cooked)

  • Carrier oil (olive, jojoba, sweet almond, or grapeseed oil)

  • Glass jar with lid

Instructions:

  1. Fill a clean, dry jar about halfway with dried nettle leaves.

  2. Pour your chosen oil over the herbs until they’re fully covered, leaving an inch of space at the top.

  3. Seal the jar and place it in a warm, dark place for 2–4 weeks. Shake gently every few days.

  4. Strain the oil through a cheesecloth or fine mesh into a clean container.

  5. Store in a dark glass bottle, away from light and heat.

🔹 Usage Tips

  • Hair Oil Treatment: Massage into scalp before shampooing.

  • Facial Oil: Use a few drops on clean skin as a serum.

  • Body Massage Oil: Combine with essential oils like lavender or rosemary for added benefits.
