Here’s a simple and delicious Baked Chicken Drumsticks recipe that’s crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside:


Oven-Baked Chicken Drumsticks Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 8 chicken drumsticks (skin-on recommended)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (or regular paprika)

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme or Italian seasoning

  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (for heat)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and place a wire rack on top. This helps the drumsticks cook evenly and crisp up.

  2. Prepare Drumsticks:

    • Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels (removes moisture for crispier skin).

    • In a large bowl, toss the drumsticks with olive oil to coat.

  3. Season:

    • In a small bowl, mix all the spices: salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, and cayenne (if using).

    • Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the drumsticks and rub in evenly.

  4. Bake:

    • Place the drumsticks on the wire rack, spaced apart.

    • Bake for 35–45 minutes, turning halfway through, until the skin is crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  5. Optional Broil:

    • For extra crispy skin, broil on high for an additional 2–3 minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning.

  6. Rest & Serve:

    • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Pair with your favorite sides like roasted vegetables, rice, or a simple salad.
