Ingredients:
-
1 loaf of French bread or Italian bread
-
1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
-
4-5 cloves garlic (minced)
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped, optional)
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
-
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional, for extra flavor)
Instructions:
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
Prepare the bread: Slice the loaf of bread in half horizontally, then place the halves on a baking sheet with the cut sides facing up.
-
Make the garlic butter: In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, salt, and garlic powder (if using). Spread this garlic butter evenly over the cut sides of both halves of the bread.
-
Add the cheese: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan evenly over the buttered bread.
-
Bake: Place the bread in the oven and bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is golden and slightly crispy around the edges.
-
Optional finishing touch: For a more golden top, you can broil it for an additional 1-2 minutes at the end. Just keep an eye on it so it doesn’t burn.
-
Garnish: Sprinkle chopped parsley on top for a fresh pop of color and flavor.
-
Serve: Slice it up and serve warm!
