Here’s a  recipe for Chicken Breasts Smothered with Mozzarella and Parmesan Cheeses—a cheesy, savory, and comforting dish.


Chicken Breasts Smothered with Mozzarella and Parmesan Cheeses

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 cup marinara sauce (optional but recommended)

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or dried oregano/basil

  • Fresh parsley or basil for garnish (optional)


Instructions:

  1. Prep the Chicken:

    • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.

    • Season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (if using).

  2. Cook the Chicken:

    • Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Once hot, add the chicken breasts.

    • Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).

    • Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

  3. Add Sauce & Cheese:

    • Lower the heat to medium.

    • If you want to use marinara sauce, add it to the skillet and warm for a minute.

    • Place the cooked chicken breasts back into the skillet on top of the sauce.

    • Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over each chicken breast.

    • Then sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top of the mozzarella.

    • Sprinkle Italian seasoning or dried herbs over the cheese for extra flavor.

  4. Melt the Cheese:

    • Cover the skillet with a lid.

    • Allow the cheese to melt for 3-5 minutes until bubbly and gooey.

    • If your skillet isn’t oven-safe, you can transfer the chicken to a baking dish and broil in the oven for 2-3 minutes instead, watching carefully to avoid burning.

  5. Serve:

    • Garnish with fresh parsley or basil.

    • Serve hot with sides like pasta, steamed veggies, or a fresh salad.


Tips:

  • You can add garlic or onion powder to the seasoning for more flavor.

  • If you want it extra cheesy, add more mozzarella or Parmesan.

  • For a crispy crust, coat the chicken lightly with flour or breadcrumbs before cooking.

  • Use fresh Parmesan for the best flavor.
