Garlic Butter Juicy Pork Chops Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless pork chops (about 1-inch thick)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional, for extra garlic flavor)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (divided)

  • 4-5 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or ½ tsp dried thyme)

  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  • Juice of half a lemon (optional, for a slight tang)


Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Pork Chops:

    • Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels (this helps with browning).

    • Season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder (if using).

  2. Heat the Pan:

    • Heat a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat.

    • Add the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter. Let the butter melt and start to foam.

  3. Cook the Pork Chops:

    • Add the pork chops to the pan.

    • Sear without moving for about 3-4 minutes, until a golden-brown crust forms.

    • Flip the pork chops and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes.

    • Reduce heat to medium-low.

  4. Add Garlic & Herbs:

    • Add the minced garlic, thyme, and rosemary to the pan.

    • Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.

    • Tilt the pan slightly and spoon the melted garlic butter over the pork chops continuously for about 1-2 minutes. This bastes the pork chops, infusing them with garlic flavor and keeping them juicy.

  5. Check Doneness:

    • Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. Pork chops are perfectly cooked at 145°F (63°C).

    • If not done, reduce heat to low and cook a few more minutes, basting regularly.

  6. Finish & Rest:

    • Remove the pork chops from the skillet and place on a plate.

    • Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the chops (optional).

    • Let rest for 5 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.

  7. Serve:

    • Sprinkle fresh parsley over the pork chops for color and freshness.

    • Serve hot with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, or a crisp salad.


Tips for Juicy Pork Chops:

  • Don’t overcook! Pork chops dry out quickly when overdone.

  • Use a meat thermometer for accuracy.

  • Rest the meat after cooking to keep juices locked in.

  • Basting with butter and garlic adds flavor and moisture.
