Teriyaki Beef and Avocado Rice Stack:
Teriyaki Beef and Avocado Rice Stack
Ingredients:
-
1 cup cooked jasmine or sushi rice (warm)
-
200g (7 oz) thinly sliced beef (like sirloin or ribeye)
-
1 ripe avocado, sliced
-
3 tbsp teriyaki sauce (store-bought or homemade)
-
1 tsp sesame oil
-
1 tbsp soy sauce
-
1 tsp grated ginger
-
1 garlic clove, minced
-
1 green onion, finely sliced (for garnish)
-
Toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)
-
Optional: pickled ginger or sliced cucumber for freshness
Instructions:
-
Marinate and cook the beef:
-
In a bowl, mix the beef slices with teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, and garlic. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
-
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and quickly stir-fry the beef until cooked but still tender (about 2-3 minutes). Set aside.
-
-
Prepare the rice stack:
-
Using a ring mold or small bowl, layer the rice first into the mold, pressing down gently to compact.
-
Add a layer of the cooked teriyaki beef.
-
Next, add a layer of avocado slices.
-
Repeat the layers if you want a taller stack, or just keep it simple with one layer each.
-
-
Garnish and serve:
-
Carefully remove the mold.
-
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
-
Add optional pickled ginger or cucumber on the side for a refreshing crunch.
