🦞 Lobster Tails with Garlic Butter Cream Sauce

🕒 Prep Time: 15 minutes

🍳 Cook Time: 15-20 minutes

🍽️ Serves: 2-4 (depending on portion size)

🧾 Ingredients:

For the Lobster Tails:

  • 4 lobster tails (5–6 oz each)

  • Salt, to taste

  • Black pepper, to taste

  • Paprika (optional, for color)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)

For the Garlic Butter Cream Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (or more if you like it garlicky)

  • 1 small shallot, finely chopped (optional)

  • ½ cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, adds richness)

  • Juice of ½ lemon (or to taste)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

🍳 Instructions:

🔪 Step 1: Prepare the Lobster Tails

  1. Butterfly the lobster tails:

    • Use kitchen scissors to cut down the middle of the shell (top side), stopping at the tail.

    • Gently spread the shell apart and pull the meat upward, letting it sit on top of the shell, still attached at the base.

    • Make a shallow cut down the center of the meat to remove the vein if visible.

  2. Season:

    • Lightly season the lobster meat with salt, pepper, and a pinch of paprika for color.

    • Brush with a little olive oil or melted butter.

🔥 Step 2: Cook the Lobster

Choose one of the following methods (broil, bake, or pan-sear):

A. Broiling Method (Recommended for tenderness & flavor):

  • Preheat the oven’s broiler on high.

  • Place the lobster tails on a baking sheet.

  • Broil for about 8–10 minutes (depending on size), until the meat is opaque and slightly golden. Do not overcook.

B. Pan-Searing:

  • Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Sear lobster meat side down for 2-3 minutes.

  • Flip and cook another 2-3 minutes or until opaque and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.

🍲 Step 3: Make the Garlic Butter Cream Sauce

  1. In the same skillet (wipe if necessary), melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.

  2. Add minced garlic and shallots (if using). Sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

  3. Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly.

  4. Lower the heat, then add the heavy cream, stirring constantly.

  5. Stir in the Parmesan cheese (if using) and let the sauce thicken slightly (3-4 minutes).

  6. Add a squeeze of lemon juice, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

🍽️ Step 4: Assemble and Serve

  • Return lobster tails to the skillet or spoon sauce over plated lobster.

  • Garnish with fresh parsley and an extra drizzle of lemon juice or melted butter if desired.

🥂 Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve with:

    • Garlic mashed potatoes

    • Steamed asparagus or green beans

🔁 Tips & Variations:
