🍳 Instructions
1. Make the Pancake Buns
You’ll need to make small, round pancakes about the size of an English muffin.
-
In a bowl, mix all the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt.
-
In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.
-
Combine wet and dry ingredients—don’t overmix.
-
Optional but recommended: sprinkle maple syrup crystals into the batter or onto the pancake as it cooks.
-
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat. Lightly butter it.
-
Use a greased ring mold or mason jar lid to make evenly shaped pancakes (about 3–4 inches wide).
-
Pour in 2–3 tablespoons of batter per pancake. Cook until bubbles form and edges are set, flip, and cook the other side.
📝 You’ll need two pancakes per McGriddle.
2. Cook the Sausage Patties
If using store-bought, cook as directed.
Homemade Sausage Patty Tip: Mix ground pork with salt, pepper, brown sugar, sage, thyme, and a pinch of cayenne. Shape and cook in a skillet over medium heat until browned and cooked through.
3. Cook the Eggs
Scramble or cook the eggs in a round mold for that McDonald’s-style shape. Add salt and pepper to taste.
4. Assemble

Let it sit for a minute so the cheese melts into the warm egg and sausage.
